Codex Seraphinianus

The Codex Seraphinianus is a 360 page “visual encyclopedia of an unknown world” written (in it’s own un-deciphered language) and illustrated by Italian architect Luigi Serafini. The book took thirty months to create from 1976-78. It’s as if Ernst Haeckel too much acid, disappeared into the woods and updated Art Forms of Nature. The entire book has been digitized here.
